Biography

Maude Audet is a quiet yet radiant force, moving off the beaten path with a graceful sense of vulnerability. A well-established singer-songwriter on the Quebec music scene, she has spent the past decade crafting introspective, organic indie-folk songs carried by her warm, enveloping voice.

She has five critically acclaimed albums to her credit, from Nous sommes le feu (2015) to Il faut partir maintenant (2023), which was nominated for a Félix Award at the ADISQ Gala, as well as Comme une odeur de déclin (2017), winner of a Lucien Award at the GAMIQ. She also released Tu ne mourras pas (2020), nominated for a Lucien and featured on numerous year-end lists, followed by Blue Tears (2024), her first original English-language EP.

A prolific creator, she blurs the boundaries between genres and mediums — exploring pop textures with Mes secrets (2024), revisiting Marjo’s classic hit Illégal for the series LÉO, and creating the show Le soir aux mille soleils for Coup de cœur francophone in 2019. A socially engaged artist, she also collaborates with humanitarian organizations such as UNICEF Canada.

With her upcoming sixth album, Maude Audet returns to an indie-folk spirit that feels both contemporary and timeless. Led by the first single Les joues usées, a hopeful piece where healing is sparked by the support of loved ones, this album has her returning to her roots and celebrating her Québécois identity, as she lets traces of joual shine through in her performance. It is accompanied by a series of original paintings created by the artist herself to reflect the album’s visual world.

As a live performer, she conceives her concerts as complete worlds of their own. After two richly orchestrated shows, she will present, in the summer of 2026, a stripped-down creation focused on raw emotion, her first production fully staged and directed by herself.

Maude Audet is an authentic, sensitive artist who has forged her own path in the Quebec music scene. With her soft, velvety voice, she writes songs as she lives her life, with a sense of grandeur and purpose, transforming the stories and poems that swirl within her into a sound that is unmistakably her own. A singer-songwriter deeply involved in every aspect of her art, her signature style, rooted in her experiences and emotions, blends contemporary and vintage folk influences.

After a decade of creating heartfelt, well-received work, Maude Audet has become more relevant than ever. Following her first three albums, Nous sommes le feu (2015), Comme une odeur de déclin (2017), and Tu ne mourras pas (2020), she stepped into the English-language scene for the first time with Translations (2021), a collection of reinterpretations of her most memorable songs. Inspired by that experience, she joined forces with collaborator Mathieu Charbonneau to craft the ambitious orchestral folk album Il faut partir maintenant (2023). Her next projects continued along this creative path.

Ever prolific, she has unveiled several notable singles and EPs, including a cover of the classic hit Illégal, Christmas songs, and the EP Chansons pour toi, with more music on the horizon. In February 2025, she released Blue Tears, a collection of three previously unreleased songs in English, before spending the rest of the year working on her next album.

Maude Audet has received consistent recognition for her accomplishments. She was nominated at the ADISQ Gala for Best Alternative Album and won the Lucien Award for Folk Album of the Year in 2018. Her album Tu ne mourras pas earned her another GAMIQ nomination in 2020, and in 2021, she won the Folk EP Award for Les sessions de mai. In 2023, ADISQ again nominated her, this time in the Contemporary Adult Album category, and in 2025, she won another Lucien Award for Folk EP with Chansons pour toi. She has toured extensively across Quebec, performing at major festivals to promote her albums. Accompanied by her talented musicians and her own stage designs, her intimate world comes to life on stage. Her music has also been featured in TV series such as Léo, Prendre le bois, Inspirez Expirez, and Three Pines, as well as in the feature film Il pleuvait des oiseaux.

Now, after exploring lush orchestral soundscapes, Maude unveils Les joues usées, a return to her roots. In this touching song about emotional vulnerability, she offers some of her most candid and poetic lyrics yet, set to delicate, pure melodies. Indeed, this release marks the beginning of a new era: one that embraces a more modern, vibrant, and sincere folk sound, offering a beautiful glimpse of what’s to come.
