Biography

Lou-Adriane Cassidy is a name that needs no introduction. Winner of the Prix Félix-Leclerc, the Félix for Reinterpretation Show of the Year (ADISQ 2024), and the Lucien for Artist of the Year (GAMIQ 2022), she stands as one of the key figures of Quebec’s new music scene. Her role in the concert series Le Roy, la Rose et le Lou[p] — named a historic moment by La Presse — confirms that she holds the future of chanson in her hands.

In 2025, she made a strong impression with Journal d’un Loup-garou, an album hailed as a new classic, and a triumphant show. That same year, she surprise-released her fourth album, Triste Animal, revealing a genre-defying artist. With stripped-down arrangements, she fully channels the power of her interpretation. Blending folk, soul, samba, acoustic grunge, and jazz, it is her most eclectic and refined work to date.

From her debut C’est la fin du monde à tous les jours (2019) to the Lou-Adriane Cassidy vous dit : Bonsoir tour — named “the best Quebec concert of 2022” by Le Devoir — Lou-Adriane continues to assert herself as an essential presence, ready to fully occupy the space that is now hers.

Lou-Adriane Cassidy is a name that needs no introduction. Most recent winner of the Prix Félix-Leclerc, recipient of the Félix for Show of the Year for Reinterpretation at the Gala de l'ADISQ 2024 and the Lucien for Artist of the Year at GAMIQ 2022, nominated in the categories of Songwriter of the Year, Critics' Choice and Rock Album of the Year at the ADISQ 2022 gala, winner of the Slaight Music 2022 award and the Coup de Coeur de l'Académie Charles-Cros in 2020, Lou-Adriane Cassidy is now one of the leaders of the new Quebec scene. Witness her participation in the triumphant Le Roy, la Rose et le Lou[p] concert series, named a historic moment twice by La Presse (2021 and 2023), and whose rave reviews suggest that she is one of those holding the future of our song in her hands.

She has already made an indelible mark on 2025, with back-to-back apotheoses of her album and show, Journal d'un Loup-garou. The album has already been hailed as a new classic of Quebecois chanson, with the depth of its lyrics and arrangements, and the sublime quality of its interpretation. The show, for its part, has received a rapturous reception from the public (nearly 4,500 tickets sold for just 5 performances) and the media, who have spoken of a triumph, a consecration, an entry into the big leagues.

Her fourth album, Triste Animal, released as a surprise on May 6, proves that Lou-Adriane is an unclassifiable and tireless creator. With stripped-down arrangements that contrast with the maximalism of the previous album, Triste Animal gives us unprecedented access to Lou-Adriane and her voice, which here can take its rightful place. Lou-Adriane shows us once again, and perhaps in the most obvious way to date, that she is a performer like few others come across in a lifetime. Combining folk, orchestral west-coast country, London pop chic, soul, samba, acoustic grunge and jazz, Triste Animal is the artist's most eclectic album to date and, for those seeking truth, her most masterful.

Her first album, C'est la fin du monde à tous les jours, already made an impression with its precocious maturity and sober interpretation. The latter earned her nominations in the Best Adult Contemporary Album and Revelation of the Year categories at the 2019 ADISQ gala, and the Lucien for Pop Album of the Year at the same year's GAMIQ. Her second album, Lou-Adriane Cassidy vous dit : Bonsoir, was a huge critical success, and the tour that followed confirmed that she burns the stage with fire and magnetism than most of her peers. Named “the best Quebec concert we've seen in 2022” by Le Devoir, the Bonsoir tour, which stretches over 70 performances, takes her all over the country and gives her the opportunity to perform in Switzerland and France on numerous occasions. Lou-Adriane Cassidy feels ready to occupy the entire space now open to her. Her art, more expansive and ambitious than ever, needs the rare airs of the upper echelons in order to live.
