Biography
Les Shirley is a kick-ass all-female rock power trio formed in Montreal in late 2018. Raphaëlle Chouinard (vocals, guitar), Lisandre Bourdages (drums) and Sarah Dion (bass) were brought together by a strong desire to make the music they’d always wanted to hear as their life’s playlist, fueled by their unique friendship.
Their musical style is redefining the genre connecting the dots between 90’s grunge, 2000’s punk rock culture and catchy pop tunes with influences ranging from HAIM to Céline Dion. It’s just the right dose of nostalgia mixed with a breath of fresh air, something that definitely stands out. The girls are solid musicians with a flair for flaming hot melodies and bursting riffs.
Les Shirley rapidly made their way into Montreal’s music scene, multiplying shows and festivals. Forever Is Now, their debut album, was released in march 2021 and received very favorable reviews. Radios all over Canada have been spinning their tunes ever since and their crowd is only growing wilder.
Joining forces with Montreal’s indie queen, Marie-Pier Arthur, Les Shirley started working on their second full-length set to be released in the fall of 2022. Random Call is the first single (out may 19th).

Les Shirley rapidly made their way into Montreal’s music scene. In 2019, the band's first self-titled EP won them Best New Artist and Rock EP of the Year at the 2019’s Quebec’s GAMIQ. Their first single Korben Dallas was Jason Rockman’s Big Shiny New Tune on CHOM. Quickly multiplying shows and festivals, the girls embarked on their first tour while recording their first full-length album.
Forever Is Now, their debut album, was released in march 2021 and received very favorable reviews. The leading single Fuck It I’m in Love charted on the Active Rock top 40 charts and cumulated over 400k plays on all plateforms as of now. The band was featured on numerous festivals’ bills during the summer of 2021 (Osheaga, Le Festif!, Festival de la Poutine, etc). Ever since, radios all over Canada have been spinning their tunes and their crowd is only growing wilder.
During the end of 2021, joining forces with Montreal’s indie queen, Marie-Pier Arthur, Les Shirley started working on their second full-length set to be released in the fall of 2022. Random Call is the first single (out may 19th).
Meanwhile, the girls are flying to Europe for a first tour overseas across France, Belgium and Germany. The band will be hitting the road all over Quebec this summer playing numerous shows and festivals including Le Festivoix de Trois-Rivières, opening for NOFX.
