Biography
A 2013 graduate of L'École nationale de l'humour, David Beaucage first made his mark as a writer and script-editor for Katherine Levac. A prolific writer and script-editor, he has initiated and performed in numerous concept shows launched at Zoofest. In 2016, he was a finalist for En Route vers mon premier gala Juste pour Rire competition, and in summer 2017, he presented Échapper le gâteau, a first solo show.
David produces and hosts his own podcast, Drette sul' tape, in which he conducts wide-ranging interviews with personalities closely or distantly related to the world of field hockey.
The earwork «BFF à distance» and the accompanying video won him, along with his accomplice Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais, his first Olivier in 2021. He recently added another statuette to his library, winning the Olivier for Author of the Year/Comedy Show for Jokes chapeau maman magie piano, by Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais. David is currently breaking in a new show, aptly named Essais-Erreurs.
Without malice, David Beaucage is the type to burst out laughing in the wrong place at the wrong time... But don't hold that against him; David is comfortable in the uncomfortable. If he's heavy in a funeral parlour, he's totally at home on stage!

A prolific creator and designer, he has initiated and acted in numerous concept shows launched at Zoofest (Champagne Maywest, Un beau programme, La soirée du field hockey). In 2016, he was a finalist in the En Route vers mon premier gala Juste pour Rire competition, and in summer 2017, he presented Échapper le gâteau, his first solo show. Combining stand-up, sketches, songs and variety shows, he exploits his multiple talents on stage, allowing audiences to discover his unique sense of humor.

In the fall of 2024, David makes his big public announcement: he'll be presenting his first one-man show, Super Normal, all over Quebec! His media premiere will take place on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Club soda in Montreal and on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Grizzly Fuzz in Quebec City.
